 COUNSEL

Richard J. Rubin
is a 1955 graduate of Union College (B.A.) and received his law degree from Syracuse University College Of Law in 1958. He practiced in White Plains, New York for three years doing general litigation and, from 1962 through 1981 was an associate and then a partner in the well known litigation firm of Gainsburg, Gottlieb Levitan & Cole where he prosecuted and defended corporate and commercial cases, as well as several high profile securities actions. In 1982 he became a member of Otterbourg Steindler Houston & Rosen, P.C., a nationally recognized bankruptcy firm where, until July, 1998, he tried major cases within the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights arenas. He has now joined the firm of counsel and will continue his practice in corporate, commercial and bankruptcy litigation.

Scott A. Steinberg  graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in 1979, with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  He earned his law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, J.D., cum laude, in 1982 and is admitted to practice in New York and Florida, as well as the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit.  Upon graduation, Mr. Steinberg was the law clerk for the Honorable Prudence Carter Beatty, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Steinberg has extensive experience in all aspects of debtors’ and creditors’ rights, workouts, bankruptcy and reorganization cases.  He has represented various parties throughout the country in many of the largest and most complex Chapter 11 cases ever filed, including Johns-Manville, Eastern Airlines, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Public Service of New Hampshire, Enron, K-Mart and U.S. Air.  Mr. Steinberg has lectured on various bankruptcy topics for the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association, and has authored several articles on bankruptcy related topics. Mr. Steinberg is a member of the Florida Bar; New York State and American Bar Associations, New York County Lawyers Association, and American Bankruptcy Institute.

Janeann Ainbinder in 1986 graduated from Boston University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hispanic Language and Literature. Ms. Ainbinder received her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1990 and is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert John Hall, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. She has served as a court appointed referee in foreclosure matters in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Kings County. Ms. Ainbinder specializes in representing debtors in personal bankruptcy.
